The Practice That Goes Further for South Orange County Families
Southern Orange County Pediatric Associates (SOCPA) has been providing exceptional pediatric healthcare to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults across South Orange County since 1977.
What sets us apart goes beyond our longevity or our four convenient locations. It’s the intentional, family-centered way we’ve built this practice, with services, policies, and access features that most pediatric offices have never thought to offer.
From prenatal consultations to young adult care up to age 21, and from a Travel Health Specialist to ear piercing at select locations, SOCPA is the practice South Orange County families trust to think of everything, so you don’t have to.
A Practice Built Around What Families Need
Since the beginning, SOCPA has been dedicated to delivering quality pediatric healthcare consistent with the needs of our patients, our community, and the evolving healthcare environment.
Doing the bare minimum has never been our style. We’re always listening, adapting, and asking how we can make your family’s experience better.
The result is a practice with four locations across South Orange County, a team of pediatricians who genuinely know their patients, and a list of services and conveniences that parents across Ladera Ranch, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, and Irvine have come to rely on.

Our Pediatric Services
SOCPA offers the full range of pediatric services you expect and then some. Here is what makes us different:
- Same-day sick appointments, early office hours starting at 8 a.m., extended hours for acute and wellness care, and after-hours care at our Ladera Ranch location, because your child’s health doesn’t keep office hours
- Prenatal consultations for expecting parents, so your family starts with the right pediatric team from the very beginning
- Phone nurse advice line and doctor phone calls provided at no additional charge
- Prescription refills at no additional charge for established patients
- Pre-travel consultations and immunizations provided by our Travel Health Specialist
- Telehealth appointments available for families who can’t come in or prefer a virtual visit
- Separate sick and well waiting rooms at our locations, keeping every visit as safe and comfortable as possible
- Ear piercing offered at select SOCPA locations — a small thing that means a lot to families who want to handle it in a clean, medically supervised setting they already trust
Hospital Affiliations
SOCPA physicians see newborns at three major regional hospitals: Saddleback Medical Center in Laguna Hills, Hoag in Irvine, and Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo.
Our physicians also hold admitting privileges at Rady Children’s Health (formerly CHOC) at Mission Hospital and Rady Children’s Health Hospital in Orange. When your child needs hospital-level care, our team is already connected to the right specialists.
Part of Rady Children’s Health
SOCPA is a proud member of Rady Children’s Health Primary Care. Our team is backed by one of the nation’s leading children’s health systems, with referrals to Rady Children’s Health’s nationally ranked pediatric specialists when your child needs them, access to dedicated care coordinators, and enhanced communication across your entire care team.
A Practice with Deep Roots in South Orange County
After nearly five decades caring for families here, something special has happened. The babies we welcomed in our earliest years are now bringing their own babies through our doors. That kind of continuity doesn’t happen by accident.
At SOCPA, your child sees your pediatrician at every visit. We don’t plug families into whichever doctor has an open slot. We’ve built our practice around the relationships between physicians and families, because the real value of pediatric care comes from a doctor who knows your child’s history, your family’s rhythms, and what’s normal for you.
Our physicians stay. Turnover at SOCPA is extraordinarily rare. Our doctors don’t leave for other practices; they retire here. Many have been with us for decades, building the kind of trust with families that only time can create. And because we’re committed to keeping exceptional pediatricians in South Orange County for the long haul, we offer a partnership path for physicians who want to make SOCPA their professional home.
That stability extends to our culture. Our physicians and staff genuinely enjoy working together, and parents tell us they feel it the moment they walk in. It isn’t something we manufacture. It’s the real result of a team that has chosen, again and again, to build their careers here together.
One Practice, Four Locations, Truly Connected
With four offices spread across South Orange County, staying connected takes intention. We’ve built it into how we operate, through regular workflow and clinical committees, shared protocols, and ongoing collaboration that keeps every location informed and aligned.
The result is a practice that feels small even though it isn’t. Whether you visit Ladera Ranch, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, or Irvine, you’re walking into the same standard of care, the same shared medical records, and the same family-centered culture that’s defined SOCPA since 1977.
